KISS rocked Lima (April 17)

KISS ROCKED LIMA!

I could say many things about the historic KISS concert on April 14 at the Estadio Nacional:

To see in person, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer, on stage was the crystallization of a dream that seemed impossible.

That the band gave everything they had on stage that night. That the parallel pyrotechnics with the music was impressive. That it affected me so much to see thousands of people like me with their faces painted like our idols. That I was touched until the tears started flowing when listening to songs that have become hymns to me, like “Hotter Than Hell”, “C'Mon and Love Me”, “Rock& Roll all Nite”, “Lick it Up”, “I Was Made for Lovin' You”, “Love Gun” and “Detroit Rock City.”

That it shook me to the core to hear all the voices of the KISS Army singing as a congregation in unison, accompanying each one of the songs. That I was oblivious to everything else when I shouted and sang too.

That it's unlikely that Lima will ever see a spectacle of the magnitude that more than 30 thousand lucky people were fortunate to experience… in short, I could say many things, but I prefer to tell you what I lived and felt in the concert. I only want to leave you with the words that Paul Stanley said when kicking off the show: “This night IS the night”.

Yes, Paul, that night was the night. My eternal thanks for that!
