KISS: 'Kissteria' Tour Special To Premiere This Month - July 8, 2010
"Kissteria", the one-hour KISS tour special produced by the Greif Company (co-producers of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" show), will air on the A&E network on Tuesday, July 20 at 10 p.m. ET. A description of the program reads as follows: "For the first time in their 35-year career, rock icons KISS give you an all access pass to the 'Alive 35' Australian tour. When Paul [Stanley] and Gene [Simmons] decide to launch a spontaneous mini-tour with only one week's notice, the entire KISS family must scramble to make it a reality. Malfunctioning pyrotechnics, faulty flying rigs and missing drummers are the least of their challenges."

Former KISS manager Bill Aucoin passes away (June 29)

LEGENDARY KISS MANAGER

William Aucoin, beloved record industry executive, manager, entrepreneur, and creative visionary, passed away this morning, Monday, June 28 at 9:11 am. EST at the Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida.

Born December 29, 1943, Bill was battling prostate cancer, and passed away from surgical complications.

The man known for masterminding the career of the world-renowned group KISS, Bill Aucoin also managed STARZ, TOBY BEAU, BILLY SQUIER, BILLY IDOL, and numerous other artists. His most recent venture is Aucoin Globe Entertainment, which he founded in 2007. In its three years, Bill and his company developed bands in the U.S. and around the world.

He leaves behind his longtime partner of fifteen years, Roman Fernandez, and two sisters Betty Britton and Janet Bankowski.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

KISS: New U.S. Tour Dates Announced - May 24, 2010 According to AOL's Noisecreep, KISS has announced the next leg of its U.S. tour in support of the band's latest studio album, "Sonic Boom", featuring stops in both amphitheaters and arenas.

Instead of selecting an established band as support, KISS has teamed up with Guitar Center to discover a talented, unsigned act. The Guitar Center On-Stage competition will allow unsigned rock bands to compete for a chance to open for KISS at 22 different tour stops. The winning band will also receive a $10,000 Guitar Center shopping spree. Unsigned bands can begin registering June 1.

Paul Stanley - "I Think That Within The Next Twelve Months We Are Doing Another Album" Marko Syrjälä recently caught up with KISS frontman Paul Stanley for Metal-Rules.com. An excerpt from the interview is available below.
Q: Overall, how satisfied you are for the sales numbers and overall feedback what you’ve got of Sonic Boom? Was there anything surprising there either in positive or negative way?
Stanley: "I’m thrilled because it’s a great album. I said from the beginning whether it sells 10 million copies or 1 million copies, it’s all the same to me. At this stage of the game it about making a great album, anything else is just a bonus. In America we had the album available exclusively at one place which has a good side and a bad side. The good side is they support is, the bad side is, it’s the only place you can get it. So there are plusses and minuses but I couldn’t want a better album, I couldn’t imagine a better album."
Q: Is Sonic Boom going to be the very last KISS album ever?
Stanley: "I don’t think so. I think that within the next twelve months we are doing another album."
Q: Really???
Stanley: "Yeah. I think it will take twelve months to eighteen months."
